The return of Waterloo Road, Doctor Who and my love of nail polish

So......Waterloo Road is back!Woop woop!Yipee! yippidy doo da..... you get the general idea. I am thrilled about the return of Waterloo Road, although it does mean I'm back to school soon... groan. Also another thing I'm thrilled about, drum roll please.....DOCTOR WHO!!! Yes Doctor Who is back (with the old and PROPER Daleks) and I'm counting down until September first when it is due to air. It seems that we'll be saying goodbye to Amy and Rory Pond/Williams but that means a new companion to look forward to. Now I know it's unlikely but the Doctor could appear and ask me to run away with him at any moment so decided to learn Gallifreyan from this guide here (for all those ignorant to the world of Doctor Who its the language that the time lords use to write in, if you don't know who the time lords are then why are you reading this?!). I know its slightly geeky but I just had a Whovian (Doctor Who fan) moment and let my inner geek out.

So to my fellow geek and/or Whovians I leave this message, decipher it if you can, again use this guide . Many thanks to Sherman's Planet. :)

I also discovered that I do really enjoy painting my nails so I decided to do it more often, suddenly BRAINWAVE ALERT! Doctor Who + Nail Art = :D
I googled Doctor Who nails and there are some great designs out there,  really like this one ( from here )

and this one (from here )

Amazing Nails!

A few days back there was an article in the times about the nail art of competitors, I love Rebecca's Union flag nail art;

but when I attempted the same thing my nails looked awful!

I googled Olympic nails and found pixie polish's video on Olympic nails (watch it here ) ;

and I've decided I have to have a go at a design like this for when I go to see the Paralympics so I've come up with my own design based on this one and I doodled it on this template from here;

London 2012 Olympics

It seems only right that as my first post is during the London 2012 Olympics that I should relate it to the 'greatest sporting event of the modern day'. However I can't help noticing that this time round, all the athletes are sporting (no pun intended) designer gear. The Italians in classy monochrome by Giorgio Armani;
the Americans in traditional red, white and blue by Ralph Lauren;U.S. Olympic Team Uniforms, Ralph Lauren
and Team GB in patriotic union flag printed kit, by Stella McCartney:Team GB and Stella Mccartney

Giorgio Armani went against the tradition of using the colours in his flag and instead went for sophisticated white and midnight blue with the occasional splash of red to brighten it up a bit. I really like the simplicity of the design but I think that a red, white and green kit would have made it a bit easier for the Italians to cheer on their team.

Ralph Lauren however stuck with the tradition and designed a simple kit using the colours of the American flag, producing a traditional Ralph Lauren look. The American kit looks so typically American high school, yet with a grown up twist.

Stella went all out and used the flag in her designs, different shades of blue made up the union flag with red hems and accessories such as shoes, socks and sweatbands. This really made sure that every Brit watching the Olympics knew who to cheer for!

Overall I think that Stella's kit wins by far. The blue kits look sophisticated yet really embody the proud British spirit by using the union flag. I also love that the kits are available to buy from Sports Direct (http://www.sportsdirect.com/world-sporting-event ) for just a small price compared to normal Stella!

As for getting in the Olympic Spirit I've seen some pieces that I absolutely love on the high street (no prizes for guessing which team I'm supporting!) :
